The Samsung Dex Station Will Transform The Galaxy S8 Into A PC

Next week, Samsung will take the wraps off its highly-awaited and much leaked Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. Buyers will have plenty of accessories to choose from as soon such as a new Gear 360 camera, new Gear VR headset, and interestingly, there will actually be a docking station for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ that will let you connect the device to your PC.

Moreover, in a new leak, the new DeX Station is said to be launched with the upcoming Galaxy S8 and S8+. Samsung Dex is set to bring a desktop experience which will provide users a desktop-like workstation from their smartphone similar to Microsoft's Continuum feature and will project the contents of the upcoming Galaxy S8 to the big monitor screen. The device will wirelessly connect to the Dex station, so no extra cables will get in the way.

Furthermore, there also seems to be two USB 2.0 ports on the back of the DeX Station, and there will also be 100Mb/s ethernet port back as well. This will allow users to connect a wired keyboard and mouse to the device for your Samsung Galaxy Desktop experience, and not to be forced to use WiFi or even your cellular connection for internet connectivity. Additionally, it will also have a fan to actively cool the device. This active cooling might be necessary since the DeX Station has an HDMI port that will let you export 4K video at up to 30 frames per second.

Considering the DeX station will cost €149.99 which is around $162. It could certainly prove to be a worthy accessory for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8. Samsung is set to provide more details at the phone's official launch next Wednesday the 29 March.
