‘The Walking Dead' Season 8: Is Glenn Rhee Making A Comeback?

It can be recalled that Steven Yeun and Michael Cudlitz's characters, Glenn and Abraham, were brutally murdered during "The Walking Dead" season seven premiere. Now, showrunner Scott Gimple has recently teased that Glenn could possibly make a shocking return just as Abraham did on season seven finale. That said, after the season's epic finale, the show is once again preparing for yet another intense twists and turns as an all-out war between the survivors is seemingly bubbling up.

'The Walking Dead' Season 8

In one of his statements reported by The Independent, when asked about Glenn's return, Gimple says that as Maggie gets closer to giving birth, a comeback is certainly possible. In addition, he said that he'd be silly if he says that it isn't. However, Gimple reiterates that it still depends on the show's turn of events considering that Maggie will have to give birth.

Additionally, as per Daily Express, Gimple was however quick to dismiss the rumors claiming that Glenn's appearance could come in season eight, while explaining that Maggie might not even give birth in the upcoming season. It was found that in the comic version, Maggie's baby is born during a two-year time jump after Negan is defeated and war is over. With that, Gimple explains that people who have read the comics will probably expect a comeback.

On the other hand, the showrunner says that there are things that happen in that time jump that seemingly looks interesting and that they might just get to see some of those. Ultimately, Gimple says that while the television series will stray from the comic version, they're still certainly going to acknowledge Robert Kirkman's original comic books.
