Would You Ride This Chainless Bike? Bizarre New Bicycle Ditches The Chains

A new chainless bicycle is making rounds on the internet as it shows potential buyers how biking can now be more convenient without the hassle of the chains. Known as Chainless, the odd-looking bike is powered instead by tungsten gears called as RTS or Rapid Turning System by the company. Without the hassle of the traditional chains, that means no worries about rusting parts, caught shoelaces or snapping hardware.

Creator of the bizarre-looking bike, Sean Chan, explained that he was sick of bicycle chain maintenance, which led him to develop the new transportation product. Mr chan had several years of experimenting and engineering with his father to produce the prototype. Now he is ready to show it to the world, starting with a cool video showing how comfortable to use the bike is.

According to the New Atlas, in designing the Chainless bike, Mr. Chan wanted to satisfy four key elements. Comfort, versatility, portability and chainless-ness were top on his list to give bikers a whole new experience. Looking at the generally enhanced feature of the bicycle, you can see that it is fully adjustable, easily allowing rider optimization.

According to Digital Trends, it is also designed to be lightweight and compact, which makes the bizarre new bike easy for city riders to carry the bike up and down stairs or store it in a closet. Finally, without the chains, there’s no worry if the links will break or loosen, making bike maintenance almost too easy.

Mr. Chan just launched the Chainless bike through a Kickstarter campaign, and he hopes to raise $75,000 to help him further the marketing process. Currently, the bike is being made in both regular and folding versions. If you want to pledge, price levels begin at US$799, with the retail pricing estimated to start at $1,000.
