Rainbow Six Siege Is Planning For Some Possible Strategic Changes

Rainbow Six Siege is gearing up for more changes in the next update that will put a spin on its strategic play. Aside from bringing in new content, Ubisoft also plans on changing a feature for defensive operators.

According to Game Rant, Ubisoft will be delivering the Season Two content for its tactical shooter game starting with two new operators arriving later this month. Meanwhile, two game directors have also discussed some of the changes they might bring in the game. This time, they plan to nerf the two-second free pass window defensive operators get when leaving their structures.

For those unaware, defenders must guard one or two rooms while the attackers try to find a way in. During the preparation phase, defenders are blocked from leaving the structure. It is only during the attacking phase when they can leave and are not identified by the opposing attacks until two seconds later.

PVP Live shares that the two-second window was originally five but was nerfed shortly afterward. Now, however, it seems like Ubisoft is considering on dropping this Rainbow Six Siege feature altogether. Needless to say, this would certainly have a large impact on defensive strategies as most maps feature areas where defenders can break out of a window and head to a section to surprise the attacking squad. While it is a risky move, it may yield some surprisingly effective results.

In line with this, both Director Alexandre Remy and creative director Xavier Marguis claimed that this sort of tactic usually allows many instances of spawn killing. Even so, this change is only a topic of discussion among the developers with no actual concrete plans of putting it in the game.

For now, fans can enjoy Rainbow Six Siege along with its next update that will bring in some new content. Those who want to try the tactical shooter can get a copy for the PS, PS4 and Xbox One.
