Parachuting into an area with lots of buildings will ensure more and better loot but players will have a higher chance of encountering other players unless they are lucky enough that the other players steered clear of these larger clusters of buildings. However, most of the time, fewer players will settle for the low-density areas so it's the best bet.

Get armors, helmets, and backpacks too. They increase the character's defense and ultimately make players more powerful. It is also important to "Pick your battles," since the reward is given to the last man standing and not the person who got the most kills. If enemies are off the distance, shooting them will only alert them to the player's position in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. It's better to wait for a better shot or until they've run off. Stay put and let them go and focus on keeping stealthy by taking note of the trees and houses and avoiding open cornfields like the plague.
