Maisie Williams Confirmed For 'New Humans' Movie; The Next 'Game Of Thrones' Star To Join X-Men Universe

Marvel is obviously on the roll as new productions are laid out both for television and the silver screen. After months of speculations that Maisie Williams will be in the new Marvel movie, “New Mutants”, the rumors have finally been confirmed. She is reportedly the latest “Game of Thrones” star to grace the X-Men universe.

Maisie Williams Is Wolfsbane In ‘New Humans’

It has been finally announced that Maisie Williams has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Marvel film adaptation of “New Humans”. Fans have been made aware that Williams had always been sought after for a role in the movie. Back in February 2017, Josh Boone posted on his Twitter account an artwork of Williams depicted as the mutant Wolfsbane.

Boone’s post was pretty much a giveaway that time but the production did not confirm until now. Williams will indeed be portraying the role of Wolfsbane, who also goes by the name Rahne Sinclair in the Marvel universe. As described in the comics, Wolfsbane is a Scottish mutant who has the ability to transform into a wolf. Williams displayed an outstanding portrayal of a young femme fatale in “Game of Thrones” so the new role suits her a lot.

Maisie Williams Follows Sophie Turner To ‘X-Men’ Universe

No doubt that “Game of Thrones” has revealed countless actors that have unparalleled talent so it's not a surprise to see that another one of its stars has been picked up to play out a Marvel superhero. Williams is reportedly the second Stark to join the "X-Men" family. Her older sister in the HBO series, Sophie Turner, who plays the role of Sansa, debuted as the young Jean Grey in the movie, “X-Men: Apocalypse”, which was released in May 2016.

Apparently, they weren’t the only “Game of Thrones” stars to grace the “X-Men” series as Peter Dinklage and Ed Skrein joined the “X-Men” universe before they did. Dinklage played the role of Tyrion Lannister in “Game of Thrones” and he made his debut appearance with Marvel as Bolivar Trask in “X-Men: Days of Future Past”, which was released in 2014. Skrein, who used to play the role of Daario Naharis, secured the main role of Ajax, also known as Francis Freeman, in “Deadpool”.
