There's no denying that the OnePlus 5 is currently one of the most talked about and widely awaited unreleased Android handsets. The next killer flagship is due this summer. While this year will be the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, and everyone is anticipating that Apple will unveil a phone that has been widely dubbed the iPhone 8 and could be the "revolutionary" iPhone Apple fans have been waiting for. As with another tech giant Samsung, its newly launched powerhouse smartphones are currently the most powerful devices in the world right now.

OnePlus 5

One plus 5 is said to come VR-friendly with its 5.5-inch QHD display.  OnePlus 5 will come powered by Snapdragon 835, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Expect it to run the Oxygen OS, a custom UI based on Android 7.0 Nougat with a 4,000mAh battery with Dash Charge. There are increasing reports that the OnePlus 5 will sport a dual-camera, potentially appearing in a horizontal rather than the more standard vertical format and expected to be a DSLR-quality camera.

Apple iPhone 8

Per leaks, the iPhone 8 will have a larger 5.8in display, "edge-to-edge" and slightly curved. The iPhone 8 will have the Touch ID sensor embedded into the screen. Reports claim there will be a "function area' at the bottom of the screen acts slightly like the Touch Bar on the MacBook Pro. Also, Apple will use USB-C instead of Lightning on the next-gen iPhone in order to introduce fast charging. Another report says that the iPhone 8 will offer just two capacities, the 64GB and 256GB and will also have 3GB of RAM. The iPhone 8 is expected to include an Apple A11 processor built on a 10nm process to match the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.

Samsung Galaxy S8

Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch QHD Super AMOLED display. Powered by Qualcomm's most powerful and latest Snapdragon 835 SoC in the US, and Exynos 8895 SoC for an international market, it offers 4GB of RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage, and also supports expandable storage via microSD card up to 256GB. Moreover, it sports a 12-megapixel "Dual Pixel" rear camera with optical image stabilization and 8-megapixel front camera with autofocus. Under the hood is a 3000mAh with faster wireless charging and 64GB of UFS 2.0 storage.  The Galaxy S8 also runs Android Nougat out of the box.

The Verdict

The OnePlus 5 has a major edge when it comes to RAM size compared to this year's major smartphones and is available for a practical rate of under $500 and would surely be a compelling alternative to Samsung Galaxy S8 and Apple iPhone 8 due to its killer specs and features.
