Porsche Just Dropped Its 911 GT2 RS At E3

The 2017 Electronic Entertainment Expo or simply E3 is known more for video game related innovations and products. That didn't stop Porsche, however, from introducing its latest sports car at the highly anticipated event. The 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS made a lot of noise when it was unveiled at the Los Angeles conference not only because it seemed out of place but more because it's a beauty to look at and a beast when it comes to performance.

The Verge noted that the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS is on the cover of "Forza 7", the latest release of the popular video game title. This explains why Porsche decided to show off the 911 GT2 RS at the video game conference.

The E3 reveal was the first time that the Porsche 911 GT2 RS was shown in public. Its test versions, however, have been spotted a number of times on the road before. One lucky fellow from Evo Magazine even got to drive the much awaited Porsche sports car. He was all praises for the 911 GT2 RS and even described it as an "absolute brutal power."

Porsche is no stranger to the limelight. It has created a number of now iconic cars in its history such as the Porsche 910 that the late legendary actor Steve McQueen drove in "Bullit." Porsche is also about breaking records and beating itself. The 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 holds the company record for the fastest lap on the Nurburgring with a time of 7:12.7. The GT3 sits just outside the top ten at eleventh place. The record for the fastest lap belongs to the NextEV Nio EP9 which finished with a time of 6:45.9 followed by the Radical SR8LM with 6:48:00 and the Lamborghini Huracan Performante with a time of 6:52.01. Other Porsche sports car on the list are the 918 Spyder at fifth place and the Porsche 911 GT2 RS at 14th place with a record of 7:18.00.
