Super Bowl 2022: Amazon Prime-Exclusive 'The Lord of the Ring: The Rings of Power' Teaser Spotted

The first teaser trailer for the "The Lord of the Ring: The Rings of Power" finally debuted on Super Bowl 2022. J.R.R Tolkien fans can watch this spin-off series exclusive on Amazon Prime.

For reference, "The Lord of the Ring: The Rings of Power" is a prequel to the popular movies "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings." Its storyline is set on the Second Age of Middle-Earth, which means the Dark Lord Sauron was still in his prime.

First Look on 'The Rings of Power' Trailer

The first trailer for "The Rings of Power" officially premiered on Super Bowl LVI last Sunday, Feb 13. Shortly afterward, the video clip was posted on Prime Video's YouTube channel, which is embedded below. Be warned that the teaser trailer is only 60-seconds short.

According to Polygon, the teaser wasted no time showing off exciting scenes on the series. It showcased short clips of a lush fantasy setting with vast hills, coastal cities, elven archery, and classic fight scenes.

It is worth emphasizing that "The Rings of Power" is also teasing a major war happening, possibly with Sauron against the other residents of Middle Earth. Fans will have to wait for a few more months for the reveal of this new story plot.

'The Rings of Power' Easter Eggs

Aside from the trailer announcement, Cnet listed three easter eggs about "The Rings of Power." These three points are certainly good reasons for generating hype among "The Lord of the Rings" (LOTR) fans.

The first easter egg is with Galadriel, who was introduced as an ethereal and beautiful elf, but is teased as warrior leader on "The Rings of Power." A few leaks show her wearing full armor and gripping a long dagger. This should be a refreshing view of the iconic character.

The second easter is showcased with the dwarves, particularly on lord of Moria, Durin IV, and the princess Disa. Typically, dwarves are seen as warriors and blacksmiths, but for "The Rings of Power," fans can see dwarves who are charismatic and aristocratic. Note that these characters are teased to be wearing a lot of gold.

Lastly, "The Rings of Power" showcase better cultural diversity by adding people of color among their characters. Unfortunately, it is hard to determine which specific characters these actors will play. Fans speculate that most might be the half-Elven people, who are often described as dark-haired and skinned.
