Apple says its Apple Music listeners have increased 50% with the Spatial Audio since September.

Apple Music's Spatial Audio feature, announced at WWDC 2021, debuted in late June 2021, provides users a more immersive audio experience. According to the company, Apple executives have been releasing selected data and discussing how Spatial Audio is being received positively by listeners.

Musically stated that Apple now has more than half of their worldwide Apple Music member base listening in spatial audio, and that number is really growing rapidly.

Apple Music and Beats VP Oliver Schusser stated that their team would have liked to have seen larger figures. However, the statistics they have gathered are well exceeding their expectations.

Apple's Increasing Listeners

As part of its ongoing effort to provide them with music to listen to, the business has increased the amount of Spatial Audio songs available on Apple Music by fourfold since September. As a result, Apple customers enjoy Spatial Audio so much that they listen to it more often.

As reported by iMore, the amount of Spatial Audio-enabled songs in the Apple Music rankings also demonstrates how popular the function has become among users.

The vast majority of Apple Music listeners have taken Spatial Audio for a spin. The number of listeners has jumped by 50% since September of this year, and they have liked it extremely.

Currently, 37% of the top 10 songs on Apple Music's global Daily Top 100 songs chart are accessible in Spatial Audio, and 42% of the top 100 songs on the platform's U.S. chart are available in Spatial Audio as of the beginning of the year.

Apple's Spatial Audio

Spatial audio was one of the announcements made by Apple during its WWDC keynote briefing in June 2020 that caught the interest of many and seemed like it had the potential to be a game-changer. Now, some two years after its introduction, this 3D audio technology has achieved significant popularity in the Apple world.

According to WhatHifi, spatial audio is designed to give surround sound and 3D audio through headphones and in the best possible way with the AirPods 3, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and Beats Fit Pro.

With Apple's Spatial Audio, the idea is to recreate the audio experience of a cinema.

When using Apple spatial audio, 5.1, 7.1, and Dolby Atmos signals are processed through directional audio filters, which change the frequencies heard by each ear, allowing sounds to be placed practically anywhere in three-dimensional space.

This allows sounds to appear from all directions, including in front of a user, to their sides, to their rear, and even above them.

Influencing Creative Business

Apple Music introduced Spatial Audio last year, and the company has been working hard to bring everyone on board.

Apple's VP of Apple Music and Beats, Oliver Schusser also added that this is their first focus in everything they do since they believe in it and feel that they are providing better technology for users to use and the company believes it is better for the creative business.
