According to a report by GameSpot, the makers of the Tamagotchi have two new products that let you "take Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and the rest of the Toy Story crew with you on all of your adventures."

The "Toy Story" Tamagotchi comes in two colors, white and blue. Regardless of what color you pick, your Tamagotchi will have the same mini games and characters that you can play with. Specifically, the GameSpot article reports that there will be a total of three mini games and 17 different characters.

Those who will buy the Tamagotchis can also expect to find two secret characters in them as well. No other hint was provided as to how these secret characters can be discovered.

Per GameSpot, "Like all Tamagotchis before it, you'll need to pay close attention to your pets (in this case, toys) if you want them to stick around. Neglect them for too long, and they end up being sold at a yard sale."

How to Pre-Order the 'Toy Story' Tamagotchi

According to GameSpot, both color options are available for pre-order on Amazon as of press time. Those who want to pre-order the blue Tamagotchi can click here, while those who want the white one should click here

The Amazon listing indicates Bandai America as the manufacturer of the toy. Bandai is the same company that released the Tamagotchis in the 90s.

According to the listing, "how you play with Woody will determine which toy he introduces you to next."

The listing also indicates that the toy measures at around 1.6 inches. Given its size, it can be a choking hazard for small children so the recommended age of the manufacturer is from eight years and up.

A "Toy Story" Tamagotchi will cost you $20. The release date of these Tamagotchis is currently scheduled for July 13.

What is a Tamagotchi?

For those who never had a chance to play with a Tamagotchi, a Tamagotchi is handheld digital pet that was popular in the 90s. According to an article by the Smitshonian Magazine, the name is a portmanteau of the Japanese words for egg and watch, tamago and uotchi, respectively.

These virtual pets have to be fed and taken cared of. Per Smithsonian Magazine, "Tamagotchi was programmed to evolve in response to the player's caretaking decisions."
