Total War: Medieval II Mobile Releases April 7 — Can You Play All Factions?

Total War fans will soon be able to conquer Medieval Europe and Arabia on their mobile devices.

Sega's Creative Assembly and Feral Interactive recently announced that Total War: Medieval II would be released for iOS and Android devices in early April 2022.

Feral Interactive previously announced that it was working on the game's mobile port in January 2022, along with a probable date range for its release, according to Droid Gamers' article on the topic.

Total War: Medieval II Mobile Details

Total War: Medieval II mobile retains much of its PC counterpart's features, per Games Press. Players can still access all 17 playable nations from Scotland in the Scottish highlands to the Muslim Kingdom of Egypt the sandy deserts of Arabia.

The game's units would still consist of infantry, cavalry, and archers. Although the game's developers didn't make it clear if siege engines, such as battering rams and trebuchets, would make an appearance in the game, screenshots of the game from the Apple App Store show trebuchets hurling flaming stones on a city's walls. This screenshot could mean that siege engines weren't left out of the game's mobile port.

The mobile version of the game would also have a "more nuanced" settlement management, additional agents to conduct state affairs, whether diplomatic or clandestine, and more sophisticated campaign mechanics to create alliances or destabilize rivals.

Whether the "more nuanced" settlement management means that the mobile port would have new features that would help players manage settlements is unclear.

The only new feature that was made for the game's mobile version is the new intuitive user interface and refined touch controls for fingertip control of the battlefield.

However, the developers' announcements and the game's store pages didn't mention if the game's expansion pack, Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms, is part of the mobile version's offerings. According to the Total War Wiki, this expansion pack adds four campaigns to the base game: the Americas campaign, which is focused on the early period of the Age of Navigation in 1521, the Crusades campaign, which covers the Third and Fourth Crusades, the Britannia campaign, which takes place during the Kingdom of England's expansion in the British Isles in 1258, and the Teutonic campaign, which features the factions involved in The Northern Crusade.
