Mario Golf is the latest Nintendo 64 game that will be added to Nintendo Switch Online on April 15. The game is the 14th Nintendo 64 title to be added to the library.

Mario Golf is set to be the 14th Nintendo 64 game to tbe added to Nintendo Switch Online. According to a report by IGN, the game is scheduled to arrive on April 15.

It will be part of the Switch Online Expansion Pack. Those who are interested to purchase the expansion pack will have to spend $49.99. It should be noted that purchasing the said expansion pack is the only way players can enjoy the Nintendo 64 games on the Switch.

A report by Eurogamer has likewise noted that Mario Golf is not the first game from the Mario Golf series that is playabe on the Nintendo Switch. This is because Mario Golf: Super Rush, which was released last year. 

Nintendo 64's Mario Golf

The Mario Golf game that was playable on the Nintendo 64 was released in 1999. A version of the game that was playable on the Game Boy Color was released in 2000.

According to the report by Eurogamer, the game is considered by many as the first modern sports game under the Mario franchise. 

The game allows players to choose from a number of beloved Mario characters, including Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, and Mario himself. The player can also choose from the available golf courses. 

Mario Golf also has a couple of gameplay modes that players can choose from, including speed golf and mini golf.

Mario Golf Series

As previously mentioned, the Nintendo 64 Mario Golf is part of a larger Mario Golf video game series.

Considered as the first entry in the series is NES Open Tournament Golf, which was released in 1987 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The most recent addition to the series is last year's Mario Golf: Super Rush

Nintendo Switch Online's N64 Library

Mario Golf joins 13 other Nintendo 64 games that gamers can enjoy once more on the Nintendo Switch Online. According to the report by IGN, other titles in the library include the following:

  • Banjo-Kazooie
  • Dr. Mario 64
  • F-Zero X
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Mario Tennis
  • Paper Mario
  • Sin & Punishment
  • Star Fox 64
  • Super Mario 64
  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • Win Back: Covert Operations
  • Yoshi's Story

Aside from the chance to enjoy these games once more, the Switch Online Expansion Pack "also grants access to SEGA Genesis games alongside DLC for Nintendo games including Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Happy Home Paradise and more recently Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Booster Course Pass," per IGN.
