Walter White and Jesse Pinkman will soon appear in "Better Call Saul."
A recent Entertainment Weekly article mentioned that "Breaking Bad" stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul would be reprising their roles as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in the sixth season of "Better Call Saul."
"Better Call Saul" season six, the series' final one, will premiere on April 18, per AMC.
Walter White and Jesse' Pinkman's Return
According to Entertainment Weekly's report, series co-creator Peter Gould revealed the news of the two actors' return to the series at the series' panel at Paleyfest in Los Angeles on April 9.
According to Twitter user @TimmySean, Gould said that the first question he and the showrunners had when they first started the show was if show watchers were going to see Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, a question which Gould answered with, "And instead of evading, I'll just say, yeah."
The Better Call Saul official Twitter page also confirmed the news and showed a picture of White and Pinkman in a sun-roofed car which confirms the characters' casting. The Twitter post also came with the caption, "They're coming back."
The announcement was not entirely unexpected as "Better Call Saul's" timeline would soon reach the point where "Breaking Bad" started by the former's sixth season's launch next week.
There were no details shared about the timing or the context of Cranston and Paul's guest appearance on the show due to Gould's avoidance of giving out spoilers to the audience. However, he mentioned that the timing and the context of the two characters' appearance were "one of many things that I think [the audience has to] discover this season."
'Better Call Saul' Connection to 'Breaking Bad'
"Better Call Saul" is a prequel to AMC's hit series "Breaking Bad." The show chronicles the exploits, trials, and tribulations of Jimmy McGill, a criminal lawyer and small-time attorney before he established his law office in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as Saul Goodman, Walter White's consigliere, per IMDb.
The show has had five seasons in which "Breaking Bad" cast members, such as Jonathan Banks, Giancarlo Esposito, and Dean Norris would reprise their roles as Mike Ehrmantraut, Gus Fring, and Hank Schrader, respectively, per Digital Trends.
"Better Call Saul's" final season will be split into two parts, with the first half of the season released to the public on April 18. This half will consist of seven episodes, while the other will have six per Newsweek.
As with the show's previous seasons, the show's sixth season will be released on Netflix, albeit with a delay previously agreed on.
The delay is due to AMC's multi-year deal with Netflix stating that the latter would have the rights to the former's shows "just before the premiere of subsequent seasons," per AMC's announcement.
Bob Odenkirk, the actor playing Saul Goodman, said that the show's final season would be "bloody" and painful," per a separate Entertainment Weekly article.
