The iPhone maker announced its new service repair program specifically for some Apple Watch 6 models to address its white or blank screen issue.

Apple said that owners of the affected Apple Watch 6 could avail of the free repair either straight from them or its authorized service providers (AASP).

The Cupertino tech giant admitted that the white screen problem affects some units of its 40mm Apple Watch Series 6. It says that the blank display issue could end up as a permanent issue, making the smart wearable completely useless once its screen goes blank.

On top of that, Apple also disclosed that the blank screen glitch affects wrist devices that have been manufactured from April 2021 until Sept. 2021.

Despite covering several months of production, the tech behemoth still clarified that the issue is only seen on a small percentage of the 40mm Apple Watch 6.

CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA - SEPTEMBER 10: Apple's Stan Ng talks about the new Apple Watch series 5 during a special event on September 10, 2019 in the Steve Jobs Theater on Apple's Cupertino, California campus. Apple unveiled new products during the event.

Apple stated that the service program lasts within two years since the "first retail sale" of its 6th generation smart wearable.

That said, even the future Apple Watch 6 units that would be sold in the next several months until Sept. 18 are still eligible for repair.

However, the tech firm added that the free service program is not open for Apple Watch 6 models that have other damages aside from its blank screen issue. Instead, if there are any additional broken parts, Apple could charge a fee.
