HTC One appears in a blue avatar, heading to Verizon?
A recently leaked render of the HTC One shows that the handset may soon be available in a blue avatar. Speculations also suggest that the new color option will head to Verizon.
The HTC One launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) earlier this year and is definitely one of the most popular Android smartphones around. The company initially launched the handset in Glacier Silver and Stealth Black color options and then introduced the Glamour Red model in select regions. Recent rumors also suggest that the red HTC One will head to Sprint.
A recent tweet from well-known leakster @evleaks shows the blue version of the HTC One, which is believed to be heading to Verizon. The latest HTC flagship smartphone is available via most major U.S. carriers apart from Verizon. Some market observers believe that the blue variant of the HTC One could be a Verizon exclusive.
The HTC One was supposed to launch in mid-March this year but due to supply issues related to the smartphone's camera, the release date was pushed to April. The handset is the closest competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the two smartphones made their debut at roughly the same time.
Rumors of the Verizon version of HTC One have been doing the rounds very frequently and recent reports suggest that the carrier will finally launch the handset in August this year.
The HTC One comes pre-loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and many models of the handset have already received the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software update. With the recent launch of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, some rumors also suggest that the Verizon version of the HTC One will come packed with the latest operating system out of the box.
Currently many smartphones are available in a variety of color options to suit individual preferences. Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 in only a couple of colors and then introduced more hues for the handset. The top-end Nokia Lumia smartphones are also available in a range of vibrant colors. Similarly, HTC may also want to attract more customers with more color options for the HTC One. The company has yet to announce the bue version of the HTC One.
