Gamescom 2022 has been full of new video game announcements and awe-inspiring trailers that has excited countless fans. Despite the delay in its release, Hogwarts Legacy is one of the games whose newest trailers have been showcased at the event.

The new trailer gives a sneak peek of the Hogwarts students' journey that involves learning more about Salazar Slytherin. It also shows a couple of enemies that players will come across in the game, specifically those that are not exactly part of the living.

Gamescom Opening Night Live Showcases New Hogwarts Legacy Trailer

Gamescom Opening Night Live has included a new Hogwarts Legacy trailer that gives fans another look at the upcoming game.

According to a report by GameSpot, the new Hogwarts Legacy trailer "mostly takes place in some cob web-covered tombs, as Hogwarts students begin experimenting with dangerous curses as they continue their journey to learn more about Salazar Slytherin."

The new trailer also features some combat scenes, which hints that players will eventually come across zombie-like enemies in the game.

Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is not set during the years Harry Potter and his friends roamed the halls of Hogwarts. Instead, it is set in the 1800s and you take on the role of a student who has the capacity to control a very ancient form of magic. Add the fact that there is a war brewing between goblins and other non-magic users and you can already tell you are in for a lot of action.

The game is an open-world, single-player RPG and since you are taking the role of a student in Hogwarts, you do get to take classes and learn a number of spells as well as potions. You also get to customize your character to your liking, including picking the gender, voice and the Hogwarts House you belong to.

The GameSpot report also mentions that a small part of the Hogwarts castle itself is customizable. However, the report does not mention what part of the castle it is. What it does mention is that "there won't be microtransactions."

When Will Hogwarts Legacy be Released?

Excited to play the game? Well, you are going to have to wait for a few more months.

Initially, Hogwarts Legacy was given a 2022 release schedule. However, that has since been pushed back to 2023.

In fact, the exact release date is now February 10, 2023, according to a report by The Verge. It should be noted that this release date only applies to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions of the game. No specific release date has been announced for the Nintendo Switch.
