Salma Hayek Turns 56: 5 of Her Movies That You Can Watch on Netflix on Her Birthday

Salma Hayek is undeniably one of the most beautiful and influential Latina actresses in Hollywood. She's a Mexican and American actress, and producer, who started her acting career in Mexico by starring in a telenovela and a romantic drama.

Later on, Hayek established herself in Hollywood. She starred in various films such as "Desperado" (1995), "From Dusk till Dawn" (1996), "Wild Wild West" (1999), and "Dogma" (1999).

Today, September 2, Hayek is celebrating her 56th birthday. And what could be the best way to honor her contribution to cinema other than to watch her films on Netflix? Here are five of her movies that you can stream on the said platform.

1. 'The Hitman's Bodyguard'

Hayek plays Sonia Kincaid, Darius Kincaid's wife. Darius (Samuel L. Jackson) is the world's most wanted hitman.

The film narrates the story of bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) who was formerly a Triple A-rated executive protection agent. However, his reputation was tainted when he lost a client to a sniper. 

His girlfriend, who happened to be an Interpol agent forced him to accept a new client. His task is to deliver Darius to the International Court of Justice in The Hague, as per Showtimes.com.

2. 'Grown Ups'

Hayek plays Roxanne Chase-Feder, a fashion designer, and the wife of Lenny Feder (Adam Sandler). The film is a 2010 American comedy film that follows the story of five lifelong friends who won their junior high school basketball championship in 1978.

Three decades later, they reunite for a 4th of July weekend upon finding out that their basketball coach died. The movie was directed by Dennis Dugan, written by Adam Sandler and Fred Wolf, and is produced by Jack Giarraputo and Sandler. A sequel, "Grown Ups 2," was made in 2013.

3. 'Septembers of Shiraz'

In the film, Hayek plays Farnaz, wife of Isaac, who is a jeweler and gem dealer. The film follows the lives of a Jewish family, who build a prosperous life in Iran. But as a revolution threatened to happen, they were forced to abandon everything.

4. 'Wild Wild West'

In the film, Hayek plays Rita Escobar, the beautiful daughter of one of the abducted scientists. The film follows the story of a famous scientist who was found dead or decapitated by a devilish device in the wild, wild west, as per Netflix.

Special Agent Artemus Gordon (Kevin Kline) teams up with James West (Will Smith) to solve the case. They first suspect General "Bloodbath" McGrath (Ted Levine) to be behind the killing but they later on move to Dr. Arliss Loveless (Kenneth Branagh), who has kidnapped the country's best scientists.

5. 'Sausage Party'

Hayek plays Teresa del Taco, a Mexican lesbian taco who is attracted to Brenda (Kristen Wiig). "Sausage Party" is a 2016 adult computer-animated comedy film. The movie is about an anthropomorphic sausage. He lives in a supermarket but one day he discovers what really happens when groceries are purchased.

The movie was directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan. It was written by Kyle Hunter, Ariel Shaffir, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg from a story by Rogen, Goldberg, and Jonah Hill.
