5 Best Memes That Made You Laugh in 2022

You would find many interesting things on the internet. And if the day is gloomy and you need something to uplift your mood, a few memes would probably save the day.

Can you imagine the online world without memes? Year after year, new memes hit our timelines, making us laugh and keeping us connected. Memes have become our go-to language online. Moreover, they have become an integral part of pop culture.

Now that 2022 is ending, let's look back at the best memes that made us laugh throughout the year.

1. Multiverse of Madness

According to Mashable, the concept of the multiverse went viral on the internet in May because of the films "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" and "Everything Everywhere All At Once."

Being witty and inventive, Twitter users make funny memes about it, poking fun at the ridiculous title of "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness." Users post photos of pop culture events with the text, "this was my Multiverse of Madness."

2. Julia Fox and her 'Uncut Jahms'

When Julia Fox and Kanye West started dating at the start of 2022, the actress took full advantage of the spotlight that she got. She did interviews and podcast appearances as a result.

In an episode of the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, she was asked about being Ye's muse. Now, trying to remind people that she was already a well-established muse before him, she ended up creating one of this year's most viral moments, as per Complex.

During the interview, she said, "I was Josh Safdie's muse when he wrote Uncut Gems." The way she pronounced and elongated the word "gems" caused a stir. For about two weeks straight, TikTok was filled with videos of people who are recreating this soundbite with their own interpretations of it.

3. Kim Kardashian Told People to Work Harder

People are tired of hearing advice from rich people on how to live, particularly in this economy. Kim Kardashian learned that lesson the hard way when a video clip of her from an interview with Variety promoting her show The Kardashians went viral. In the clip, she told women that they had to work.

She also said that " it seems like nobody wants to work these days." Fans were then quick to remind the reality show star that there were people that are dying. The clip was shared repeatedly online. People make jokes about Kim coming from money and how disconnected she is from reality.

4. Homophobic Dog

The viral homophobic dog is the white dachshund Whitney Chewston. She originally went viral because of her hilariously judgmental face in 2021. The homophobic dog memes started with an image of Whitney Chewston sitting next to a glass of red wine with the caption, "not too fond of gay people."

This year, there are more photos of the dog that were photoshopped having similarly ironic text, such as "I know what you are" and "let's hope it's just a phase." The memes are said to be made by members of the LGBTQ community in an attempt to make fun of homophobic people.

5. This Was My Heartstopper

"Heartstopper" is a charming queer teen romance based on a webcomic. The show came to Netflix in April. Since then, it has had the internet in a loving embrace. The show inspired Twitter users to share images of other queer pop culture moments. The images were captioned with "this was my Heartstopper."
