Dead Space 2 Comes Free on Steam for Players Who Order the Original Game’s Remake

Electronic Arts (EA) has an extra treat for players who are planning to get the upcoming remake of 2008's Dead Space. Those who are planning to order the remake will get a free copy of Dead Space 2.

Free Dead Space 2 Game Appears to be Exclusive to Steam

It's only a few weeks before EA Motive's reimagining of the original Dead Space arrives on PC. The good news is anyone who will pre-orders the game on Steam will also get a copy of Dead Space 2.

According to Rock Paper Shotgun, the offer seems to be exclusive to Valve's storefront. Based on the report of the news outlet, Epic Games Store is not listing the offer on their pre-order page for the Dead Space remake.

The news outlet also notes that even if Dead Space 2 has been available for more than a decade you'll have to wait until the Dead Space remake becomes available in order for you to play your complimentary copy.

The remake of Dead Space is considered one of the biggest video game launches of 2023, particularly in the horror genre. Fans of the series have been looking forward to the release of the remake.

The remake of Dead Space will be out on January 27 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game's remake is an overhaul of Visceral Games' original third-person shooter that uses EA's Frostbite engine, according to Kotaku.

The game will still follow engineer Isaac Clarke as he conducts an investigation on a mining ship full of mutated crewmates. However, some scenes and gameplay have been modified and updated.

Kotaku reported that the game now includes more extensive weapon upgrade paths and 360-degree spacewalks.
