5 Cooperative Video Games That Couples Can Play Together

Video games have come a long way since its inception. GHamers now have the chance to share their games' experience with someone else through offline cooperative mode or online.

This feature allows gamers and their romantic partner to try out video games together, which could be a great way to spend time with them, especially if they're trying to get into video games.

here are some games you may want to try playing with your partner:

It Takes Two

It Takes Two is an action-adventure platform video game heralded not only as the best co-op game for couples but also the best game 2021 has to offer. It is based on enriching a couple's relationship through solving puzzles (which can get emotional sometimes) and overcoming obstacles as a couple through teamwork.

The game has you and your partner take the role of a married couple on the brink of a divorce, which may set up discussions that could culminate in discussions that could either fix or enrich your relationship.

The Dark Pictures Anthology

The Dark Pictures Anthology is a video game series that lets you and your partner decide the fate of the characters you play through online multiplayer.

Both you and your partner can control two characters simultaneously across all four of the series' games, which are independent of each other. However, both of you would need to take turns in certain cutscenes to determine which of the characters in the games live or die.

Sometimes, even the fate of your partner's character rests in your hands. Careful about what you'd do next.

Overcooked

If you and your partner just want some virtual chaos in a kitchen, then Overcooked is the game you're looking for. The game puts you and your partner against each other in a cooking match that challenges both of you through obstacles while submitting enough plates of food in time.

Both of you could also end up together, but regardless of who goes up against who, chaos will ensue due to the amount of delegation and communication needed to get enough plates of food out in time.

A Way Out

Much like The Dark Pictures Anthology and It Takes Two, A Way Out puts you and your partner in a story about vengeance and justice that provides lots of cooperative fun and challenges to both of your morals.

The game has you and your partner placed in the shoes of two convicts who have to work together to exact vengeance on their common enemy.

However, these convicts have stories of their own, which would be separately explored to flesh out the motivations of these characters better.

Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes

If you and your partner don't like a story with your puzzles, then you'd probably like Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes.

The game puts you and your partner together to disarm bombs by solving puzzles to do so. However, these puzzles come in codes which, thankfully, can be decoded through the sheets of paper you or your partner has.

True to the game's title, both you and your partner must keep talking to one another to solve these puzzles together... unless both of you want to (virtually) end up in a fiery explosion.
