'XO, Kitty' Season Two

Not much has been revealed about the second season of the show, only that it has been renewed by Netflix. Still, it was enough to fans happy, especially since Netflix has been experiencing delays with its other shows.

Produced by Awesomeness Studios and ACE Entertainment, the show was released on May 18th, 2023. At its peak, it took the spot of number two on the English TV List, accumulating 72.1 million total hours watched, also making it in the Top 10 in 90 countries in its first week.

Netflix also announced the show's renewal for season two through Twitter, with the cast such as Sang Heon Lee (Min Ho), Minyeong Choi (Dae), Gia Kim (Yuri), Anthony Keyvan (Q), and Anna Cathcart (Kitty Song Covey), revealing the message: "XO, Kitty Season 2 is coming!"

The show is a spinoff from the successful "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" trilogy, where the main character was Kitty's older sister, Lara Jean Covey played by Lana Condor, and Peter Kavinsky played by Noah Centineo.

Kitty Song Covey is the youngest of three siblings. Although the show can be understood without having to watch the three prior movies, Kitty did meet Dae in the third movie in the franchise. It also adds context to her "matchmaker" status and among other references.

Fans are excited to see what's next in the life of bubbly Kitty after the events of the first season. The protagonist applied to the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS) in order to get closer to her boyfriend, Dae, as well as get to know more about her Korean mother's roots.

However, things go sideways as (spoiler) Dae agrees to pretend to be Yuri's boyfriend, which he was not allowed to tell anyone due to a non-disclosure agreement. The plot thickens as key characters like Min Ho and Yuri become potential love interests for Kitty.

More Upcoming Shows

Among Netflix's most anticipated shows, "The Witcher" season three is set to be released this June 29th, which also happens to be the last season where Henry Cavill plays the role of the protagonist, Geralt of Rivia.

It will be divided in into parts, Volume 1, which will consist of episodes 1 through 5, and Volume 2, which will show episodes 6 through 8. The second volume will be released by Netflix by July 27th, almost a month after the release of the first volume.

As for "Stranger Things" fans, you might be waiting a bit longer for the fifth and final season of the show. Due to the writers' strike, the launch of the show's latest season might not be until late 2023, or even mid-2024.

The Duffer Brothers stated that "writing does not stop when filming begins," and with the strike, writers are postponing their work until a fair deal is made for them. Until then, we can expect delays with other shows and movies as well.
