EA Officially Reveals The Sims 4: Horse Ranch Expansion Pack, Release Date

EA has revealed official information about The Sims 4's next expansion pack.

The popular video game publisher recently announced The Sims 4: Horse Ranch expansion pack, releasing more information about it than the leaks about it could, including its official launch date.

The Sims Community fan page previously leaked information about the expansion pack on June 21, though it couldn't confirm the leaks it released officially.

The Sims 4: Horse Ranch Official Details

EA's reveal of the Horse Ranch expansion pack confirms much of the Sims Community's leaks, though it reveals more information about the upcoming expansion pack.

Much like the leaks say, Horse Ranch is equine-centric and brings ranching life to Simmers worldwide. It comes with a new world inspired by the American West, called Chestnut Ridge, for Sims to explore and have a great time, whether at a traditional cabin or a modern farmhouse.

As is usual with the Ranch life, Simmers can experience all aspects of it - they can raise, train, form bonds with, and care for customizable horses for every aspect of their lives. They can also take care of mini goats and sheep along with their horses and harvest Prairie Grass to feed them.

These animals will provide a unique contribution to the ranch, even if they're only meant to be adorable - horses, for instance, can provide manure to fertilize the plants Simmers can grow.

As part of the Ranch life, Simmers will need to tend to their property and their animals to keep things spic and span. They could hire a ranch hand to make the workload lighter if they're feeling overwhelmed with the many things to do on a ranch.

Simmers can also have their Sims craft their own Nectar - The Sims 4's equivalent of wine/alcoholic beverages - by stomping on fruits, potatoes, or even trash. Just like any other alcoholic beverage, they could either sell them immediately after production or age them for more earnings.

Chestnut Ridge also comes with its own bar for Sims to drink and find and make friends, a dance hall to blow off some steam after a hard day's work, or horse around and train at the Equestrian Park.

Foaling Around

Speaking of horses, Simmers can have horses bred to get the ultimate horse, which will start as a customizable foal for Simmers to personalize. Having horses nuzzle under the stars will create a foal that may or may not have a unique trait and personality.

Horses also come with four skills for Simmers to improve: Temperament, Agility, Jumping, and Endurance. To develop these, Simmers can have their horses go through their respective training courses, presumably located at the Equestrian Center.

The Center also hosts competitions that gauge how good a Simmer's horse is based on their skills - winning results in Simoleons, plaques, and displayable metal signs on their big Rnach Sign.

The Sims 4: Horse Ranch Availability, Price

The Sims 4: Horse Ranch expansion pack launches on July 20 at all available platforms for $39.99, though interested Simemrs can preorder the expansion pack as early as June 22.
