Ibai Llanos Addresses the Issue

The Spanish streamer has broken records on Twitch time and time again. He is also known for holding the "La Velada del Año" event, which translates to "Night of the Year." With its success, the content creator continued to host it, with 2023 being its third year.

Even without the live stream, the event already has over 70,000 viewers at the Civitas Metropolitano soccer stadium in Madrid, Spain. With the boxing matches, Llanos aims to beat his own record, which he successfully did on Saturday.

The first match between Twitch streamer Ampeterby7 and pop star Abraham Mateo went live without a hitch, already achieving the goal Ibai wanted to reach. In the second match, however, users started experiencing outages, as reported by Gizmodo.

Around 2 PM ET, Twitch users reported on Downdetector that they were experiencing problems during the boxing match between Twitch streamer Samy "Rivers" Rivera and TikToker Marina "La Rivers" Rivera. Over 5,200 users were affected by the outage.

Llanos, not happy about the hitch during his record-breaking live stream, said that Twitch was acting weird. A lot of users were informing them of the issue through the chat and the streamer tried to contact Twitch to resolve the issue.

He expressed that "it's a shame to put on this event and then see that a platform with $300 million isn't capable of providing a good server." He then apologized to the viewers for the inconvenience, also stating that there was little they can do.

Despite the outages, the eight-hour live stream had an average of 2.89 million viewers and a peak of 3.45 million. Overall, the La Velada del Año event reached 15.9 million unique viewers. Llanos thanked his viewers for creating another world record.

Ibai Llanos is part of the Spanish-speaking community on Twitch, which also happens to host channels that have the highest numbers of live viewers on the platform. The 28-year-old resides in Spain and has been holding the event for three consecutive years.

According to Streams Charts, Llanos has an average viewership of 262,109. In the past 30 days, the record-breaking content creator has been on the air for more than 113 hours. He has since gained 1.7 million followers in the month, which is an 11.87% increase from last month.
