Amazon Services Increase Price

According to Variety report, the Amazon Music Unlimited individual plan for Prime members will increase by a dollar from $8.99 to $9.99 per month.  Meanwhile, the family plan for Prime members will go up from $15.99 to $16.99 per month.

Annual plans for both individual and family plans will increase each by $10. The annual individual plan will be priced at $99 per year and the family plan will be $169 per year.

On the other hand, Amazon has already adjusted its Music Unlimited plans for non-Prime members earlier this year. Non-Prime members are now paying $10.99 per month. Amazon also then cited that the price hike will help the company bring more content and features for their subscribers.

Amazon Music Unlimited New Price Release

As confirmed by Amazon to The Verge, new customers will see the new price "plus applicable taxes" by Tuesday. On the other hand, existing customers are expected to see the new price on their first bill "on or after" September 19.

Last February, Amazon already increased the annual price for Amazon Prime membership. Meanwhile, other music streaming services have started to roll out their own price hike for the past months such as Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Premium.

If you are not keen on the increasing service prices, Amazon still offers Music Unlimited to its Prime members for no additional cost. This includes a variety of tracks and ad-free podcast episodes. The downside is, you can only play through shuffle-play mode.
