Twitch Streamer Professor Palmer Finished Baldur’s Gate in Just 11 Minutes

There are always gamers who try to speedrun newly released games, whether it's to see how quickly they can do it, if they can create a record, or so they could be the first to post full playthrough content. As for records, Twitch streamer Professor Palmer holds it for Baldur's Gate 3 for finishing it in under 11 minutes.

11-Minute Speedrun of the Highest-Rated Game

Professor Palmer on Twitch, whose real name is Cary Palmer, already managed to do a speedrun before the game's release. It was back in 2020 playing the game's early access, where he beat it in just seven minutes.

Now that the game has a full version, he strived to do it again and managed to do the fastest playthrough by defeating the boss in record time. Palmer played the wizard Gale and the companion Lae'zel, which allowed him to jump vast distances in the game's world.

In order to get through all the obstacles as fast as he can, he also skipped all the dialogues within the game by spamming the skip button when cutscenes come on. He also saved time by skipping the third act entirely.

Despite that, he still technically finished the game because he beat the final boss. According to Kotaku, Palmer did an "alternate" but valid ending and used a magic bomb in Gale's chest, which could kill the final boss without even fighting it.

It's a solution that has been possible throughout the game, although using it early on would result in getting the "game over" screen. It also leads to everyone in the party dying with Gale, but it could be used for the final fight and win.

Palmer stated that it was hard to circumnavigate what the developers put to keep him out. Still, he managed to do it, which is all the more impressive knowing that he did so with the hardest difficulty in the game.

He was not new to speedrun, since he already did so with so many other titles such as Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, Parasite EveSouth Park: The Stick of Truth, and more.
