YouTube to Implement Ad Changes

Starting this November, YouTube will "simplify ad-controls for pre-roll, post-roll, skippable, and non-skippable ads" on new videos, Game Rant reports. Rather than manually choosing ad format selections, creators will now have an option to enable or disable the ads for these formats.

Moreover, mid-roll ads will still give creators full control. They can either manually select ad breaks or automatic ad breaks. Meanwhile, newly uploaded videos will have the option to on or off ads appearing before or after the video.

On the other hand, previously uploaded videos will have the existing ad format selections. However, future edits will allow the same enable and disable option.

YouTube Expands Livestream Experience

In addition, YouTube added new ad opportunities on livestreams with the new mid-roll ad controls. The mid-rolls will have third option such as optimized mid-roll frequency, self-selected, and new live display ads.

Moreover, delay ads button was added and will prevent mid-rolls and live display ads from appearing for 10 minutes. YouTube will also start rolling out new revenue information through YouTube analytics to further improve the ad revenue.
