5 Netflix Shows That Went On Too Long

Netflix has a habit of canceling shows that people actually want to watch. Meanwhile, they keep renewing content that should've already ended. You can only stretch a show so far before it stops making sense, and that's the case for many titles from the streaming giant.

1. 'Riverdale'

The show started out promising with the first season. It even looked like it had the potential to be a long and good show. It was based on teenage drama in high school, so it was already a safe bet to begin with. Sadly, high school doesn't last forever.

The gang graduating was not the only thing that contributed to the crumbling of the narrative. Somehow, the series lost sight of what it was about. From teenage drama to a bit of mysterious crimes, "Riverdale" eventually led to magical powers and darker twists.

2. '13 Reasons Why'

The premise of the show was already controversial, but Netflix managed to create a story that did not incite mass criticism. It was mostly about Clay Jensen listening to the tapes that his fellow classmate left before she took her own life.

The recordings detailed the reasons why she did what she did and after the first season, it should've been done. It was based on a book after all. However, the showrunners decided to expand the storyline, and somewhere along the way, the show just became unwatchable.

3. 'Money Heist'

The Spanish drama was a big hit, especially since the situation had people on the edge of their seats the whole time. The numbers of the original team that conducted the bank heist eventually dwindled, which was to be expected, and the remaining people managed to get away with it.

The show should've ended after part two. They got the money, and Berlin went out with a bang, but they just had to extend the show to try and recapture the spark that it had. The show then killed off fan favorites like Tokyo and Nairobi, which kind of killed the show as well.

It's very rare for social media influencers to step into the world of Hollywood and make a success out of it. People are set in their ways and want entertainers to stay in their formats. Such is the case for YouTube Miranda Sings, whose real name is Colleen Ballinger.

Her show only went on for two seasons, and they were two uneventful seasons. She did make a lot of people happy with a lot of her videos on YouTube, but Netflix canceled her show due to alleged misconduct and the whole thing with the ukulele apology song.

5. 'Insatiable'

The show starring former Disney star Debby Ryan also went on for two seasons, but the show shouldn't have aired at all. It was about the protagonist, Patty, who lost all her weight due to an injury and suddenly became "desirable."

Many viewers criticized the show for several problematic aspects within it. For one, a lot complained about how the show was leaning on insults to be funny. Then there's the part where life goes on for the beauty contestant after several instances of murder at her hands like it was a comedic factor.
