Meta Quest 2 VR Headset is Now Only $199

Meta's Quest 2 is receiving a permanent price cut as the flagship VR headset will now be available for only $199.

Meta has earlier reduced the prices for the VR headset and its accessories three months ago. Now, it seems it is intending to keep that cut-off permanent.

Going from its original release price of $355, the nearly 50% discount arrives as a way for Meta to "bring the experience within reach for even more people."

Other Quest 2 accessories also received a permanent half-price reduction, including its elite strap for $24.99, elite strap with battery at $44.99, carrying case for $19.99, $29.99 active pack, and fit pack at only $19.99.

The announcement comes as Meta continues to hype up its Quest 3 as it competes with the recently released Apple Vision Pro.

What Can You Do with Meta Quest 2?

Compatible with over 500 apps and features, people have a huge selection to choose from on how they will enjoy the VR headset, from business and professional purposes to recreational hobbies.

For gamers out there, the Quest 2 headset can also be used to play VR games on Xbox and PC. Unfortunately, the extension does not include PlayStation devices.

Meta has recently even announced plans to expand its Quest for Business suite to the education sector, introducing new apps and tools for teachers, instructors, and learners to explore during their studies.

Quest 2 Still in Demand After 4 Years

Although Meta has been focusing more on Quest 3 lately, Quest 2 remains its most in-demand VR headset even after four years since it was first released.

This was proven during the previous Black Friday sales where the older VR model vastly outsold both Quest 3 and PlayStation VR headsets on Amazon sales.

While its total sales have gone down since it first surged during the pandemic period, the headset is still more widely popular among many people, especially with the continuous updates and quality-of-life improvements it receives.

The discount is a huge chance for more people to get their hands on a top-of-the-line VR headset and get a preview of whether they like to upgrade to Quest 3.
