Samsung's latest trio of wearable devices have officially become available for purchase from Amazon, but the Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch already appears as out of stock.
Amazon started taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2, Galaxy Gear 2 Neo, and Galaxy Fit wearable devices back at the beginning of this month, listing an April 11 shipping date. The gadgets have now gone on sale on Amazon, but availability may be tight for now. Pre-order customers, meanwhile, have already started receiving their devices.
Amazon has updated its Galaxy Gear Fit listing to point out that the device is indeed in stock, but it "may require an extra 1-2 days to process." The Galaxy Gear Neo is in stock and ready to ship, while the Galaxy Gear 2 is temporarily out of stock. Interested buyers can still order the second-generation Samsung smartwatch and receive it when it becomes available again.
"Order now and we'll deliver when available," Amazon notes on the Galaxy Gear 2 product page. "We'll e-mail you with an estimated delivery date as soon as we have more information. Your account will only be charged when we ship the item."
The Samsung Galaxy Gear is the latest version of Samsung's smartwatch, aiming to succeed where the original Galaxy Gear disappointed. The Galaxy Gear 2 Neo is a slightly watered-down version that ditches the camera and has a sportier, less premium build, while the Galaxy Gear Fit is a fitness wristband with a focus on healthy exercise.
All three wearable Galaxy devices pack Samsung's latest-generation AMOLED technology, with the display giving the impression that it's painted on. The Galaxy Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit gadgets come with a $199 price tag, while the Galaxy Gear 2 is more expensive at $299.
As previously mentioned, the Galaxy Gear 2 is temporarily out of stock, but Amazon should replenish inventory soon enough. The other two wearables appear as in stock at the time of writing, but only the Gear 2 Neo is ready for shipping without delay. The Galaxy Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo are available in black, orange, gray, and silver color options, while the Gear Fit wristband is only available in black.
