iPhone Alarm Glitch Solver: How to Fix 'Silent Alarms' on Your Devices

iPhone owners are facing a major problem in the morning. Their devices are setting off "silent alarms," causing oversleeping and unintended late attendance.

The issue stems from certain phones' Clock apps, resulting in the scheduled alarm not activating at the set time.

Several iPhone users have already brought the issue on social media as more owners report similar problems. So, here are some steps to possibly fix the "silent alarms" on iPhones:

Change Your Attention-Aware Settings

Apple has already confirmed it is "aware of an issue causing some iPhone alarms to not play the expected sound" and is currently working on an update to fix the issue.

In the meantime, the phone manufacturer provided some guides to possibly remove the glitch.

Apple advised the affected to switch off the "Attention-Aware Features" in their "Face ID & Passcode" settings.

The feature is normally used to automatically adjust the brightness and volume of the phone if the phone is unattended or the user suddenly receives a call while playing media.

Disabling the feature could remove other functions potentially blocking the alarm sounds from setting off.

Reset System Update

If changing the Attention-Aware settings does not work, the next best step is to remove the current update on the iPhone.

Most iPhone glitches, as was the case in the past, were caused by a software issue in the phone's latest system update.

To fix these glitches, users can temporarily remove the latest iPhone OS update on their phones if they badly need the alarm feature.

The update can be deleted by going to Settings>General>iPhone Storage>iOS Software Update. Once accessed, users can select and delete whichever iOS update is currently installed on their phones.

These issues often take a short time before getting fixed as affected users can reinstall the current OS version once a glitch fix has been issued.

Factory Reset

If both methods still do not work, a third "nuclear" option can be called in times of need.

Users can factory reset their devices by directing towards Settings>General>Reset, and then tapping the option to "Erase all Contents and Settings."

Take note that the process will require the user's passcode or Apple ID password before initiating.

It is also important to remember to store all relevant data on the device on an external hard drive to easily restore it once the factory reset is complete.

Like with uninstalling the iPhone OS update, users can just reinstall the latest version once Apple issued a fix to the glitch.
