Sony Xperia Z3x AnTuTu benchmark lists 6.2-inch 2560x1600 display, Snapdragon 810, 4GB of RAM

Sony is apparently working on a new smartphone powerhouse, as a top-specced Xperia Z3x handset has now popped up in an AnTuTu benchmark listing.

The company seems to be unleashing flagship devices at a rapid pace. The Xperia Z2, for instance, made its debut earlier this year back at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014, only to be followed by the newly-launched Xperia Z3 roughly six months later.

The new Sony Xperia Z3 comes with high-end specs and features all around, but it doesn't boast such impressive improvements compared to its predecessor, the Xperia Z2. Nevertheless, as the Xperia Z3 is slowly reaching international markets, a new Xperia Z3x is apparently in the works already and the hardware improvements are far more impressive.

This purported Sony Xperia Z3 was spotted on the AnTuTu benchmark database and if the listing turns out to be accurate, the device will be a real monster when it comes to hardware specifications.

According to this AnTuTu listing (see image above), the upcoming Sony Xperia Z3 will pack a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (yes, 810, not a typo for 801) paired with a hefty 4GB of RAM and an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit (GPU). The device will apparently sport a massive 6.2-inch display with a high resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels.

On the software side, this purported Sony Xperia Z3x seems to be running Android 4.4.2 KitKat. On the other hand, the AnTuTu benchmark may be listing a test device and the final product will likely ship with the latest Android L on board.

No other details are currently available regarding this purported Sony Xperia Z3x, but the device definitely looks very promising. As always in such cases, however, it is highly advisable to take this with a grain of salt until an official announcement.

If the Sony Xperia Z3x is indeed on its way, the company may choose to unveil it at the MWC 2015, just like it unveiled its Xperia Z2 this year at MWC 2014. Nothing is for certain just yet, but we'll make sure to keep you up to date as soon as more information becomes available.
