Sprint LG G Flex 2 up for pre-order, free LG Quick Circle Folio Case included

The powerful LG G Flex 2 unveiled back in January at CES 2015 is now officially available for pre-order from Sprint.

Last year, Sprint was the one to offer the original LG G Flex in the U.S., and now it's also the first U.S. carrier to start taking pre-orders for the handset. Sprint announced a few weeks ago that it would begin taking LG G Flex 2 pre-orders on Feb. 20, and it is now making good with its word. AT&T and US Cellular are expected to offer the device as well.

As a reminder, the LG G Flex 2 rocks a 5.5-inch curved P-OLED display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, marking a neat improvement over the 6-inch 720p P-OLED display of the original LG G Flex. Under the hood, the new curved-screen powerhouse packs a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor paired with Adreno 430 graphics and either 2GB or 3GB of RAM for the 32GB and 64GB internal storage configurations, respectively. MicroSD support, meanwhile, will allow for up to 2TB of additional storage (no typo, it really takes up to 2TB).

The LG G Flex 2 further boasts a 13-megapixel rear camera with laser auto focus and OIS+, a 2.1-megapixel front shooter, and a 3,000 mAh battery with fast-charge technology that allows it to charge up to 50 percent in under 40 minutes.

The company also touted that its new LG G Flex 2 is 20 percent more durable compared to the original LG G Flex thanks to LG's chemically enhanced DuraGuard tech. The new smartphone also boasts improved self-healing capabilities compared to its predecessor, as it can recover from small scuffs and scratches in 10 seconds or less. In terms of software, the LG G Flex 2 comes with Android Lollipop on board and also boasts the LG G3's most popular features.

Sprint now has the LG G Flex 2 available for pre-order in a choice of Platinum Silver or Volcano Red at $199.99 on a two-year contract, $21 per month for 24 months with Sprint Easy Pay, or $504 outright. Pre-order customers should get the device on or around March 13. To further sweeten the deal, Sprint is also throwing in a free Quick Circle case for the smartphone.
