LG G4 Note phablet to rock whopping 3K display at 600ppi?

LG is planning something big for later this year, and its next-generation flagship may boast a 3K display, going up against rivals such as Apple and Samsung.

With the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 come and gone, we now know virtually all there is to know about the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and the HTC One M9 flagships, but there's still plenty of room for surprises from other OEMs.

LG, for its part, decided not to unveil its LG G4 at the MWC, but the smartphone is nonetheless expected to make its debut soon enough. The company may have a bigger and better version of the LG G4 in store, however, and it may rock the sharpest, most impressive display yet for its category.

It's not the first time that rumors regarding an LG Note phablet start making rounds, but a new report now adds some exciting information. According to the Korea Herald, the upcoming LG G4 Note will boast a 5.5-inch display with a whopping 3K resolution, with a pixel density of roughly 600 pixels per inch (ppi). This would translate to the highest pixel density compared to any other 5.5-inch phablet so far.

Moreover, the LG G4 Note will reportedly sport a slight curve, similar to that seen in recently-leaked LG G4 renders (see image above).

The report doesn't reveal anything else in terms of specifications, expected launch, or purported price, but the LG G4 Note is expected to come packed with top-notch specs and features all around. The report does mention dual cameras with 16- and 5-megapixel sensors.

Not too long ago, the company's CEO teased that it's working on a "higher-end product" than the LG G4, and it will announce it later this year. The LG G4 is expected to debut in the following month or two, and the LG G4 Note would arrive sometime after that.

LG has made other phablets so far and they have proved to be quite successful, but the next-generation LG G4 Note could be its best one yet. The LG G4 Note phablet would go up against rivals such as Samsung and Apple, boasting killer specs.

Nothing is officially confirmed at this point, which means that it all remains in the rumor state for now. As always in such cases, it's highly recommended to take all leaks, rumors and reports with a hefty grain of salt. We'll keep you up to date as soon as more information comes to light, so stay tuned.
