Budget offerings and midranged devices are both the hot, thriving grounds for Android handset manufacturers. There's practically a handful of them coming out every month, with each, new device featuring more capable hardware specifications, new features and lower price tags. Xiaomi's Redmi 3 hits all the points in the checklist, and as such, it is now the smartphone to buy in its category. Lenovo, on the other hand, wants a piece of its market, and such takes aim at Xiaomi's latest offering and announces a new budget offering of their own dubbed as the Lemon 3.

Lenovo's latest budget smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 chipset with an octa-core CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz a piece and 2GB of RAM. It also comes with 16GB of internal storage that is expandable via its microSD card slot.

As for its display, the Lemon 3 features a 5-inch panel with full HD resolution. Moreover, as seen with the company's smartphones as of late, the smartphone features dual speakers powered with the Dolby Atmos technology.

Lenovo also doesn't skimp on the Lemon 3's camera. It features a 13MP primary snapper and a 5MP selfie snapper. This marks as a huge step up when compared to its new generation A series that only features an 8MP primary camera.

Furthermore, the Lenovo Lemon 3 comes with a 2,750 mAh of battery rating. It pales in comparison with the Redmi 3 at 4,100 mAh, but the company's legacy in that department could also mean that it can deliver longer screen times.

The handset also comes with 4G LTE connectivity, making it capable of delivering blazing fast Internet speeds. It features dual SIM capabilities, and it comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a micro USB port.

As far as the pricing goes, the Lemon 3 has a US$105 price tag, which also puts it in the same price as Xiaomi's Redmi 3. Those who want a full HD display at the expense of the battery rating can go with Lenovo's offering, but those who need more screen time over pixels can have Redmi 3 as the device of choice.
