Asus Zenbook Flip Full Review: Can This New Hybrid Device Really Go Against Microsoft's Surface Pro

Very recently, Asus has decided to cash in on the trend, by releasing the new ZenBook Flip UX360CA. The new gadget is already available in Asus stores and selected retailers.

As Laptop Mag notes, the ZenBook Flip swivels on a 360-degree hinge, making it capable of transforming into a notebook or a tablet. So unlike the Microsoft Surface Pro line, the keyboard is always attached to the screen. However, users can personalize the use of the hinge if they want. Users can put the Zenbook Flip on stand and tent mode without the help of a special case.

The ZenBook's hinge relies on what Asus is calling a "precision engineered multi-gear metal mechanism." This mechanism, reportedly, allows for smooth action. The same hinge is also supposed to securely hold in place despite the angle, thus giving the user a truly comfortable experience.

Tech Radar adds that the touchscreen of the ZenBook Flip is 13.3 inches, with HD Display and 1920 x 1080 resolution. It is powered by an Intel Core M processor and runs on 8 GB of RAM and the battery will hold for 10 hours on the go.

It weighs 2.9lbs, which is not that light but is only 13.9 mm thick so it will be easy to store. The new device also comes with a USB Type-C port and a pair of USB 3.0 ports. There is also a micro-HDMI connector and SDXC card reader.

The ZenBook Flip also sports an MS Precision Touchpad. According to Asus, the touchpad is "super responsive," making use of it much easier for consumers. Reportedly, the laptop runs cool enough without the need for a fan, so it is much quieter than its competitors. The ZenBook Flip UX360CA is priced at $699 for the 256GB model, or $799 512GB alternative.
