Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Leak Reveals 'Edge-Less' Design For Minimalists

Up until this point, it was established that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 would be arriving only in an Edge variety. It had seemed that Samsung was moving completely towards the Edge and making it its staple design. But Samsung is again taking the public by surprise through some leaked photos of an edge-less unit.

According to Yahoo! News, the standard phone is often preferred because of the distortion that the Edge makes. It seems that while the Edge arguably has a better design, and certainly is more unique, staring straight at the screen results in warped images.

Fortunately, a photo was leaked of a prototype unit from tipster The Malignan, which shows a straight-edged Samsung Galaxy Note 7. It cannot be any other Samsung handset, as the S Pen also makes an appearance in the photo.

As Slash Gear points out, however, the S Pen looks slightly different from the one found from its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 5. Of course, the Korean Tech Giant could have taken some design liberties for its next flagship.

The unit will be officially revealed during a press conference on August 2, in New York City. However, it will not be truly available until August 15, or after, depending on a user's carrier. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is expected to arrive with a 6 inch, Super AMOLED display in black, silver and blue. Further, the rear and front cameras will be 12 megapixels and 5 megapixels respectively.

Interested individuals will have the option of 64GB or 128GB for internal memory. However, this is still expandable to 128GB via a microSD card. Like Samsung's current flagship as well, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be IP68 resistant to dust, wind and water.

One definite innovation that Samsung is incorporating into the upcoming unit is the iris scanner. Reportedly, the iris scanner will make the unlocking feature much faster.
