‘Monster Hunter Stories’ Update: Upcoming 3DS Includes ‘Zelda’ Crossover

Monster Hunter Stories is a Nintendo 3DS game that will feature a Zelda crossover. The upcoming game is expected to come out on October 8.

Monster Hunter Stories

Monster Hunter Stories is a spin-off role playing game from the Monster Hunter series and developed by Capcom. The 3DS game developer launched a video promotion trailer showcasing the Zelda crossover. Interestingly, 2016 is the 30th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda game.

The video promo also shows that players can switch to either male or female depending on their preference just like in Zelda. Unlike previous Monster Hunter series, this spin-off RPG game is rather turn based and not full action.

It also seems that this latest installment is geared more to players who are new to the game and much younger of age. The Monster Hunter series is a game that has been for quite a while. Many of its players are much older and have detailed understanding on how the game and story works. The Monster Hunter Stories is Capcom's attempt to capture new players for this 3DS game.

How Zelda Crossover Works

The Monster Hunter Stories main character and sidekick can have Links weapons, armor and mode of transport, which means his Master Sword, Hylian Shield, green tunic and horse, Epona. The trailer showed Felyne will assume the role of Skull Kid who was introduced in Majora's Mask. He also gets acquainted with Link's horse, Epona.

Monster Hunter Stories Launch Date, Place, Price

Monster Hunter Stories is expected to be launched on October 8 in Japan as a 3DS exclusive. Unfortunately, Capcom has yet to announce a North American or European launch date. But for those in Japan the upcoming RPG game will cost around 6,000 Yen or about 60 dollars for the physical version and around 5,500 Yen or 54 dollars for the digital version.
