GTA 6 Delay Could Suggest A Possible Exclusivity Deal From Rockstar?

It's safe to say that there are a lot of fans looking forward for GTA 6. After all, the franchise proved to be a massive hit, acquiring sales after sales. Unfortunately though, Rockstar reportedly cancelled the developments of the said title. While it's believed that the studio did so in order to focus on the fifth installment, many suggest that it could be something else. True enough, there are those who think that the cancellation (or perhaps delay) was meant for a possible exclusivity deal in the future.

As previously reported here at iTech Post, Rockstar made the decision to cancel any further developments (if there are) of GTA 6 in a move to give utmost focus on GTA 5 -- the current flagship title. Indeed, it's completely understandable for the company to do so. Besides, there's still a lot of things to be done with the fifth title.

Nevertheless, the cancellation of GTA 6 proved to be a double edged sword. There are a great number of disappointed players, who have since expected for the game to be a reality. It's worth noting, however, that Rockstar didn't give out any official word regarding the decision.

According to Parent Herald, one of the possible reasons Rockstar had to cancel or delay GTA 6 is due to a forthcoming exclusivity deal. The latter obviously refers to a deal with a major gaming platform -- either Xbox or PlayStation. And this is somehow similar to what the company did with the first installment, which was exclusively released for Sony's system. The succeeding titles, however, were unleashed to all major gaming platforms.

The rumored possibility of GTA 6 becoming an exclusive title rooted from the ever-rising cost of developments. While it remains a mystery if such deal would prove to be an attractive prospect in the market, if it happens, fans can expect the game to be played for either Microsoft's or Sony's.

What are your thoughts on GTA 6 being cancelled? What do you think could be the sole reason behind this action from Rockstar? Do you really believe the company will pursue an exclusivity deal? Share us what you think at the comment section below!
