Tom Clancy's The Division Update: New World-Tiers, Enemy Difficulty Tweaks Coming

It looks like things are starting to be a little bit interesting with Tom Clancy's The Division. With the impending release of update 1.4, it seems players can expect lots of changes in the game. Aside from bug fixes, Ubisoft is also said to introduce a couple of new features -- one of which is a setting for players to tweak enemy difficulty. And not just that, they will also be offered with brand new world tiers.

During the recent Tom Clancy's The Division State of the Game, the developers announced the arrival of new world levels that are somewhat inspired by the popular game Diablo from Blizzard. As reported by Forbes, the said feature rooted from the feedback the studio got from the recently concluded summit.

As soon as update 1.4 arrives, Tom Clancy's The Division will introduce a total of 4 world tiers. Each of these levels are accompanied by their respective gear sets. The breakdown are as follows.

  • World Tier 1 - 163,182 gear
  • World Tier 2 - 182,204 gear
  • World Tier 3 - 204,229 gear
  • World Tier 4 - 229 (the current allowable level of gear in Tom Clancy's The Division)

Apart from the aforementioned Tom Clancy's The Division upcoming world tiers, a setting specifically designed for enemy difficulty is also expected to arrive. It will range from Hard to Challenging all the way to the highest Heroic levels. There are reports, however, that suggest a possible issue with the said changes. That, in one way or another, it will be all about the competition of acquiring the highest tiers, something that will drop in every challenging level.

The arrival of update 1.4 in Tom Clancy's The Division could be a make or break for the title. With Massive promising a huge number of fixes and features, it's safe to say that most fans are expecting it to be a great patch. But if it fails to impress, it can hurt the game's future badly. In fact, players believe that if it indeed happens, it's a mystery if the community will even consider the forthcoming DLCs -- namely, Survival and Last Stand.
