Nintendo Classic Family Computer Returns in Mini Form & Built-In Games

Nintendo is set to release the classic Family Computer in its miniaturized form. Just like the NES western version, the Famicom will certainly bring back the nostalgia for the older Japanese gamers.

The Japanese Famicom will still sport the 8-bit graphics but with some updated twists. It can still be plug into the television using HDMI cables. The original console required game cartridges but the mini version has 30 built in games. It does however, retained the two controller hardware design. Famicom Has Cooler Games Than Western NES Version?

The Japanese Famicom version includes Final Fantasy III and River City Ransom which are not available in Western NES version. Most of the other games though are present in the two systems.

Why is Nintendo Releasing Classic Family Computers?

Japanese game maker Nintendo is releasing mini version of its classic game consoles obviously to make a sale. But it also appeals to a lot of gamers particularly, those who grew up with the original consoles during the 90s.

People will buy these mini versions of Famicom mainly for nostalgia or as novelty items. These classic consoles are permanently bundled with 30 games. Users cannot add, delete or change the games inside. On the other hand, younger players will be acquainted with an early gaming platform that predates the Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox.

Nintendo Classic Famicom Release Date, Price Tag

The Japanese version of the classic Nintendo Family Computer is slated for release on November 10. The price tag is expected to be around 5,980 or around $60. Buyers will have to shell another $10 (1,000 yen) for the AC adapter.
