‘Sherlock’ Season 4 Is The Last Of BBC Series; Benedict Cumberbatch Reveals “End Of An Era”

Will BBC’s crime drama “Sherlock” bring down its curtain after seven long years of giving entertainment to its audience?

Title character Benedict Cumberbatch dropped a major reveal in an interview with GQ Magazine.
When asked about his thoughts on the upcoming fourth installment of “Sherlock,” the English actor did not hesitate on teasing season 4 as the end of the series.

“It might be the end of an era. It feels like the end of an era, to be honest.”

Cumberbatch went as far as saying that the cast and crew have finally finished what they were required of the show.

“It goes to a place where it will be pretty hard to follow on immediately. We never say never on the show. I’d love to revisit it, I’d love to keep revisiting it, I stand by that, but in the immediate future we all have things that we want to crack on with and we’ve made something very complete as it is, so I think we’ll just wait and see. The idea of never playing him again is really galling.”

It looks like avid followers of “Sherlock” have to relish the last season of the series intended for a 2017 release.

The showrunners and the network have not yet announced their comments on the possible conclusion of the show; reason enough to have fans raise their hopes high that detective Holmes could still pursue his quest in solving mysterious cases.

Three episodes of “Sherlock” season 4 await its huge fan base with the first two episodes nabbing the titles "The Six Thatchers” and "The Lying Detective."

Moriarty is rumored to appear as a ghost in the new season in the aim of causing troubles to Sherlock Holmes and a new villain will be featured to add thrill and action in the already exciting storyline.
