Ferrari's 488 GTB Squashes 458 Italia

Ferrari is only competing with itself. The Italian automaker is famous for creating sports cars, Grand-Touring (GT) cars and exotic cars such as LaFerrari. But the car maker is popular for its sports car. This year, it released its latest sports car called Ferrari 488 GTB.

Ferrari 488 GTB Is The Next Big Thing, 458 Italia Is So Last Season

Ferrari is an Italian luxury automaker that is famously known for its engine, cars and design. The automaker is ready to move on from it 2009 Ferrari 458 Italia and is introducing a newer and sleeker car, Ferrari 488 GTB, Car Buzz reported.

According to Business Insider, GTB means Gran Turismo Berlinetta. Ferrari 488 GTB is a lot better compared to 458 Italia because of the huge boost in performance and power. The latest car model is quicker because Italia can go from zero to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds while the 488 can do it in 3 seconds only.

488 GTB's design has a loaded facelift, making the exterior look firmer compared to 458 Italia. Despite the loaded design, the newest car is considered a lighter version of Italia. Also, the fuel efficiency of GTB is better than Italia.

Another car from the Italian auto maker, the Ferrari 458 MM Speciale, was also introduced previously. However, it still does not compare to the Ferrari 488 GTB.

Ferrari 488 GTB's Engine

Those over at Motor Authority called the engine "Mid-Engine Magic." The Ferrari 488 GTB's engine is a 3.9-liter V-8 with a pair of turbochargers. Its engine has 660 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque.

With the help of its twin turbochargers, the car can respond within 0.8 seconds at 2,000 revolutions per minute (rpm) when the driver shifts to third gear. What is magical about it though, is that the engine under the hood of the Ferrari 488 GTB can keep the noise to a minimum while releasing huge amount of power.
