‘This Week, My Wife Is Cheating’ Update: JTBC Releases Additional Teasers For Lee Sun Gyun, Song Ji Hyo’s Upcoming Rom-Com

JTBC just released this week additional teasers for the upcoming romantic comedy TV series “This Week My Wife is Cheating.” The teasers outline some of the complex relationships involving the main characters of married couples played by Lee Sun Gyun and Song Ji Hyo, and Kim Hee Won and Ye Ji Won.

The teasers include Lee Sang Yup and BoA who play co-workers, AllKpop reported.

In early August, JTBC confirmed that “Running Man” star Song Ji Hyo would play the lead role in the TV series. Lee Sun Gyun is Do Hyun Woo, her husband and a producer working in the industry for 10 years, according to Soompi.

Light Comedy Is Based On 2007 Japanese Drama

The series is based on the 2007 Japanese drama, “Konshu Tsuma ga Uwaki Shimasu." The J-drama, shown over Fuji TV, is made up of 11 episodes shown from Jan. 26 through March 27, 2007.

Its main cast were Yusuke Santamaria (Dodoh Hajima), Ishida Yuriko (Saegusa Tohko), Tomosaka Rie (Izumi Tamako), Hirota Reona (Shiho Kunshi), Sawamura Ikki (Todoroki Shinichiro) and Enani Kyoko (Komachi Yukari).

The 11 episode-series had single and low-double digit ratings, the lowest being 8.1 percent for episode 5 and the highest 12.5 percent for the pilot episode.

Couple’s Journey From College Sweethearts To Broken Marriage

For the Korean version, the story begins in the campus where Hyun Woo and Soo Yeon (Song Ji Hyo) meet as college students until they marry, and Soo Yeon eventually will have an extramarital affair.

Hyun Woo would find out about his wife’s cheating through a text message on her cellphone about a hotel reservation. Because he wants to stay married to Soo Yeon, Hyun Woo seeks help from strangers on the internet who would provide him anonymous advice how to fix a broken marriage.

This Week, My Wife is Cheating” airs beginning Oct. 28 at 8:30 p.m. KST. The 16-episode series gets a Friday-Saturday slot.
