VR Makes Its Way To Roller Coaster Rides, A Cheaper Way To Try Before Buying The Headset

With the PlayStation VR released just four days ago, who wouldn't want to try what it feels like strapping on that VR headset on your head, getting ready for an unforgettable experience for the very first time? Depending on the game you are about to play - from fighting games to FPS and even Horror (which we believe would be the best VR game genre to play), everyone seems to agree that the VR is going to make the gaming experience a whole lot better.

What if we tell you that you can actually try a VR headset without having to shed out a hundred bucks? Awesome, right? Now what if we add that you can try the VR while you are in a roller coaster ride? Way better? Well, you can! Just head on to Six Flags!

VR Roller Coasters At Six Flags

Six Flags Theme Parks announced during Spring 2016 that they teamed up with Samsung to revolutionize roller coaster rides. Adding the VR to their rides pretty much made their roller coasters even more challenging and interesting while for Samsung, it's their chance to show off their Samsung Gear VR to potential buyers.

In Six Flags press release, it stated that nine of their parks will have "full immersive, virtual riding experiences" with the Samsung Gear VR. Their well-known roller coasters will have riders wear Gear VR headsets to experience the steep drops, inverted loops, and heart-pumping powerful twists and turns a lot better while the proximity sensors synchronize the action in an unforgettable virtual reality world.

Six Flags CEO and president John Duffey said, "One of the most exciting things about this technology is that we have the ability to change the storylines to offer our guests new thrills and new reasons to visit our parks."

Roller Coaster Rides With Samsung Gear VR

Six roller coasters at Six Flags Parks were debuted with the Samsung Gear VR which are: Shock Wave (Six Flags Over Texas), Dare Devil Dive (Six Flags Over Georgia), The New Revolution (Six Flags Magic Mountain), Ninja (Six Flags St. Louis), Steamin' Demon (The Great Escape), and Goliath (La Ronde).

Six Flags new Superman Virtual Reality Roller Coasters will be immersed in the "360-degree comic book world of Metropolis". Those who want to try touring Metropolis with VR, just head on to SUPERMAN Krypton Coaster (Six Flags Fiesta Texas), SUPERMAN The Ride (Six Flags New England), or SUPERMAN Ride of Steel (Six Flags America).

Samsung Gear VR is compatible with Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge+, S6, and S6 Edge.
