The sixth installment of the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire" to be entitled "Winds of Winter" has been anticipated my many fans already and it is still not close to happening. Is it true that the author may have already given up on its release?

"Winds Of Winter" Delayed Release Date May Lead To Cancellation?

As it can be recalled, the "Winds of Winter" by George R.R. Martin was supposed to be released long before "Game of Thrones" season six ended, since the series is a book adaptation. However, the series came before the book, thus revealing that the writers tweaked the story a little bit and decided to go their own way. Thus, Martin may have to reference the series now, as opposed to his book being the reference of the HBO series.

In line with this, there have been reports claiming that due to its extreme delay, "Winds of Winter" may not be released at all. The launch date keeps moving further and further away, which has saddened many fans of the book series "A Song of Ice and Fire." The book was initially expected to be released by December this year, then pushed t 2017, then recently now to 2018. This may have resulted to some of the fans getting frustrated with its release.

Upcoming Sixth Book To "A Song Of Ica And Fire" Book Series To Be The Longest

Nevertheless, George R.R. Martin has previously admitted to being a slow writer. Especially given the storyline of the books series, it may take a while for him to write the storyline as expected by the fans to be wonderful, detailed and precise to its prior book installments. It has also been speculated that the upcoming "Winds of Winter" is the longest one among the book installments, also adding to the delay. In fact, Martin may already have a seventh book planned on the way.

Since there hasn't been any announcements made by the author himself about the alleged cancellation, it is safe to say that the book is still up and running. It may be taking a while before the fans will get a hold of it, rest assured it should be just as amazing as how they expect it to be.
