The couple who has been together for more than twelve years was said to have broken up due to Brad Pitt's physical and verbal abuse of their kids. A certain incident about their eldest son Maddox was often cited in which Brad Pitt had allegedly fought with inside a plane. The child abuse allegations have since then been investigated by child services representatives. Brad Pitt has since been undergoing drug and alcohol counseling and testing.

Recently, Maddox and his dad reunited and it marked the start of the family's forgiveness and healing. According to Hollywood Life, an insider said, "The meeting with Maddox was monumental, It's the start of forgiveness and healing for everyone. It was very emotional and painful. but a huge step in the right direction."

The source also mentioned that the recent reunion with the kids and his willingness to cooperate has broken the ice between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The insider added, "A week ago, it seemed impossible that they would ever get past this, but things are shifting. There does seem to be a glimmer of hope." The same source also said that Brad Pitt misses his family so much and that he would do anything to have his family back together.

However, Gossip Cop was quick to point out that the report about Angelina Jolie rethinking the divorce was fabricated. They reported that an "actual, reliable Jolie source" said that Angelina Jolie is determined to move forward. Furthermore, it was reported that the story was likely manufactured and none of it is accurate. Nonetheless, fans are still hopeful for a possible Brangelina reconciliation in the future.
