Toyota Prius Prime vs Chevy Volt: Which Car Is Better Overall?

The 2016 Chevy Volt and 2016 Toyota Prius are alike in some ways, unlike in others, but which one's better for you?

Both stand to save gas and low emissions while providing effective transportation. The Prius is mid-size, Volt is impenetrable. Both are variations on hybrid powertrains with the Volt being the one that can plug in and travel as a part-time electric vehicle.

Which Car Can Save Gas?

According to The Car Connection, If you do 150 miles a day, the Prius wins. If you do 50 miles a day, the Volt wins. If you're somewhere in the middle, the math gets complex. Volt owner who covers less than 50 miles a day and recharges every night may not switch on his engine for weeks at a time. Owners may easily record "gas mileage" of 100 to 400 miles per gallon under those circumstances.

The Prius can run further all-electrically for a mile or so, ith the Volt is staying in EV mode which is possible given three-quarters of all drivers travel under 40 miles daily. So basically, Prius wins.

Which Car Is More Comfortable For Families?

The 2016 Volt has 90 cubic feet passenger volume, 19 cubic feet in the hatchback while The 2016 Prius, 2.4 inches longer, 0.6 inches wider and 0.8 inches lower than 2015 which had 94 cubic feet passenger space, and 22 cubic feet volume.

The Prius has better interior room, more luggage will pack, and has wider space for people in the back.

Which Car Is More Stylish And Better-Looking?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course. Some think the new 2016 Prius is too bold; others think the new 2016 Volt is too bland. When it comes to handling, the Prius has a reputation for being boring to drive, Reported from Ecomento.

The Prius and Volt are so comparable. In fact, choosing between them is going to depend on more on your own priorities. If you want to optimize your fuel efficiency -- and you don't see installing a charger or charging up your car, The Volt is right for you. If you want a superior fuel-efficient vehicle to be as similar to a normal car as possible, you'll prefer the Prius.
