'The Originals' Season 4 News & Updates: 'The Vampire Diaries' Crossover Still Happening; Caroline Helps Hayley With Hope’s Powers To Save Klaus?

"The Originals" season 4 is scheduled to air in 2017 and fans are getting doubtful that the crossover with "The Vampire Diaries" will happen. With Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan) requiring help to get out of his prison, his best bet seems to be TVD's Caroline Forbes (Candice King).

While it may be difficult to pull off a Klaroline love story, Caroline could still play a vital role in "The Originals" season 4 and help save Klaus albeit in another capacity. Hope (Summer Fontana), Klaus' daughter, is still one of his potential saviors and she could pave the way for a crossover between the two shows.

"The Originals" And "The Vampire Diaries" Crossover

With Caroline's engagement to Stefan, it might seem impossible for Klaus and Caroline to end up together which also means that Caroline might not be Klaus' savior. However, there's still a big chance that a crossover will happen in "The Originals" season 4 even if there might be no Klaroline.

As of the moment, the most popular theory is that Caroline will save Klaus but there's still another option -Hope. "The Originals" season 4 will have a five-year time jump which means that Hope is no longer a baby. Being Klaus' daughter, the seven-year-old child is bound to be powerful. Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is trying her best to keep the child safe but she could struggle in terms of helping Hope come to terms with her power.

With this predicament, this is a great way to bring Caroline into the picture as she can help Hayley with Hope's powers. While it would be interesting to see Klaus and Caroline back together, it might not be the great love story that many fans were rooting for. With Hope's help, they can rescue Klaus and ultimately Klaroline might happen. This though might take a while since the new season would focus on some family moments between Klaus and Hope.

A New Powerful Enemy

Another new teaser dropped by Julie Plec, the executive producer for "The Vampire Diaries" and its spinoff "The Originals," is that there would be a new entity which would be a very powerful enemy.

Unless the family is back on their feet, it would be hard to face another powerful entity right away. This is another great opportunity to bring in "The Vampire Diaries" characters in New Orleans not just Caroline. Plec already released a statement that the chances of a crossover are more than 100 percent sure, so it would be exciting to see how the writers pull it off.

"The Originals" season 4 is scheduled to debut on the CW in 2017. Meanwhile, fans can follow Caroline and the rest of "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 characters every Friday at 8 p.m.
