Pokemon GO News And Update: Does Playing In Different Countries Give An Edge?

Pokemon Go has been made available on numerous countries around the world and Niantic is still planning on expanding the game even more. However, there are several theories emerging recently about the difference of playing Pokemon Go in specific countries. Some players are curious if each country gives unique types of bonuses such as increased in spawn rate, exclusive Pokemon and others.

According to Otakukart, the answer to the situation is both yes and no. Based on the report, it is a Yes in a sense that players who live in the city have higher rates of capturing Pokemon than someone who lives on rural areas, which Niantic previously attended to the issue. It is also a No in a sense that Niantic has a current algorithm for how frequent a Pokemon spawns and places that have nests. Overall, it is very complicated to know the truth behind this matter. Some players said that Europe has more Pokemon than North America or Australia and other countries.

One particular reason claiming that a certain country is having an advantage is Niantic's preceding announcement of the four region-locked Pokemon. That means their spawns are only available in a specific country. In order to fully complete the PokeDex, trainers have to travel to the place where these region-locked Pokemon are located. As previously reported, these four region-locked Pokemon are Farfetch'd, Kangaskhan, Mr. Mime and Tauros which can only be found in Asia, Australia, Europe and North America, respectively. As of now, Niantic has no plans on releasing these region-locked Pokemon in all countries.

These region-locked Pokemon might give players some slight edge on the PokeDex count, however, it still can't make a huge difference on the overall satisfaction of the player. No matter where you are located, playing the game together with your friends and teammates is still the key to a better overall gaming experience.
